Overview

Working with the Consultant Editor, you will be responsible for creating top-class content for Nikon Magazine. This role includes all elements of the content lifecycle, including: ideation; planning; commissioning; writing; editing; CMS uploading; admin; and optimisation of the content.

 

As Content Editor (Business Travel & Luxury) you will be primarily working on the Nikon account, while supporting, on an ad hoc basis, other account projects, including British Airways, Mandarin Oriental and Dorchester Collection.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

-          Content ideation: Working as part of the creative team to create content proposals in response to client briefs for Nikon magazine.

-          Content planning: Prepare editorial decks for Nikon magazine with the Editor, in response to client brief and content KPIs. Contribute to weekly client statuses and editorial tracker.

-          Content creation and production: Lead the production and growth of Nikon magazine, from writing photography tutorials to new product reviews, interview profiles, SEO-optimised articles and vox pops from award events.

-          Asset production: Working closely with the Creative Director, source photographers and videographers for Nikon magazine and commission new assets. Assist on shoots where required, championing editorial POV.

-          Content uploading, audit and tracking: Upload articles and assets to CMS and Digital Assessment Management weekly, correctly storing and labelling said assets.

-          Content distribution, insights and reporting: Create monthly snapshot decks for Nikon. Monitor distribution of Nikon magazine articles on social media and email newsletter. Recommend articles monthly for distribution on social, email and paid advertising.

-          Administration: Ensure articles are created and produced within budget and on schedule; that all the necessary paperwork (including new supplier forms, communication forms, licensing letters and invoices) is regularly completed; and that internal trackers are regularly updated.

·       Collaborate with editorial, art, account management and subs teams to deliver work on time and to the highest quality

·       Build a strong network of photographers, videographers and writers, ensuring quality and consistency across all content

·       Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients and other agencies, developing trust and acting as the go-to expert for all things photography content-related

 

Thought leadership

·       Stay tapped into photography culture and activity within the photography media and photography industry

·       Identify and attend relevant events, building relationships and elevating the profile of Cedar and Nikon within the photography media and photography industry.

Skills, capabilities & tools/tech exposure

 

Must have

·       Knowledge of / interest in photography

·       Good writing, organisational and communication skills

·       Confidence managing multiple projects and stakeholders

·       Good understanding of digital magazine production

·       Proficient in Microsoft office (Outlook / Word / Excel)

 

Nice to have

·       Detailled photography knowledge

·       Experience as a digital editor 

·       Exposure to CoPilot and other AI tools
