Reporting to: Sales Manager (OOH & Entertainment)

Place of work: Hybrid of WFH + office (Central London).


This is a new role on the sales team which has been created as a result of media portfolio expansion. In 2024 we are adding a number of new opportunities to the BA Media portfolio which include: extending our successful in-lounge media portfolio to BA lounges across the world, upgrading a number of the existing portfolio assets available in the UK, adding offsite retargeting and advertising on inflight connectivity to the digital portfolio along with increasing the volume of ads sold on emails.

In addition to the exciting developments in the BA Media portfolio the Eurostar Media is set to have its biggest year in 2024. The recent Thalys and Eurostar merger provides a wider range of destinations available to customers travelling on the Eurostar network via St Pancras International (the home of our Eurostar media inventory). A 15% increase in passengers is forecast for next year. And of course, with all eyes on Paris for the 2024 Olympics, demand for our media is set to be super high.

We are looking for a candidate who has the passion and hunger to be an integral part of this portfolio growth. He/she will have the confidence to identify high value advertisers and pitch new and existing opportunities in the UK and abroad.

Role summary: Maximise personal sales across the Cedar sales portfolio, with an emphasis on OOH and digital formats. The current portfolio is as follows:

·        BA: The Club, High Life digital (website, inflight digital channel and email advertising). In-lounge ambient media (digital screens, static large format, experiential), sponsorship, passenger promotions and brand partnerships. Pre-roll on board inflight entertainment. Inflight connectivity. High Life magazine.

·        Eurostar: St Pancras International ambient media (digital screen & static large format, sponsorship). Metropolitan magazine.

Your area of sales responsibility will span agencies and direct clients, UK and international. You will be expected to create your own direct client remit by pitching new business from clients direct, UK and international. Your work will include conducting advertiser tours of BA lounges and St Pancras station and there is the prospect of international travel to visit prospective clients and attend trade shows.


·        Maximise personal sales revenue from clients direct and agencies, UK and international. Note, the majority of our sales revenue comes from client direct.

·        Identify and pitch new advertisers within the UK and internationally.

·        Deliver creative ideas which inspire advertisers to book multimedia campaigns within the BA and Eurostar’s customer journey.

·        Help define new revenue opportunities for the airport and station environment.

·        Lead source and follow up leads given to you in a timely manner.

·        Maintain excellent product knowledge of all media in the Cedar portfolio and be able to sell every available sales opportunity with equal competence and passion.

·        Create and deliver compelling sales proposals and sales presentations.

·        Attend trade conferences relevant to our media (UK and international).

·        Target and deliver sales in line with the business needs and objectives at the time.

·        Work with other team members, other Cedar departments BA and Eurostar, to ensure your booked campaigns are fulfilled and run as booked.

·        Assist Cedar by passing on or following up leads for new Cedar business.

·        Create and share case studies of successful campaigns you have delivered.

·        Record an accurate account of your interaction with clients and subsequent bookings on the central PSC system.

·        Continually demonstrate you are a team player, working harmoniously with your colleagues, striving at all times to deliver maximum revenue towards annual budget.

Required experience and ideal candidate:

·        Minimum one year’s sales success, preferably in comparable media to the Cedar portfolio.

·        Proven track record of sales success, including new business.

·        Excellent presentation and proposal writing skills.

·        Excellent advertiser relationships relevant to the remaining Cedar sales portfolio (defined above).

·        Excellent team player and good Cedar fit.

·        Creativity and the ability to deliver solutions outside the brief.

·        Possess a good understanding of the advertising markets within which Cedar operates: ambient, on-board media, digital and print.

·        Possess a passion to work within travel media and demonstrate at interview that you understand the BA and Eurostar media brands.
